Getting Organized

Supply Area Pic

We’re ISO certified?!
I wouldn’t have known, considering the sign is on the top of an eight foot shelf in the supply area.

It seems I’ve been vacuuming like crazy lately. We’re getting organized for visitors to the office. Normally it’s just the family that sees the mess back here because this is a B2B operation. But occasionally we have to open our lair to guests.

That means a lot of picking up, wiping down, and tucking away. But it’s still crazy looking.

Having a family business, to us, means that we have another building to store more stuff. We have some crafts and projects here that have nothing to do with the business. But they’re here because the tools we need to finish them are at the office.

In the office because…?

Clearing this out is a part of lean manufacturing, six sigma, and is just good business.

Having personal items is essential to feeling at home in your own office — things like pictures and hand lotion — but having twenty other projects waiting on you when those running the business should be focused on just the business is counter productive.

We’ll get it cleared out eventually.

About life at esyringe

Life at esyringe is about the inner workings of a small business based in Washington State. Get a good laugh or some introspection at The company sells syringes online, hence 'esyringe'. No, not syringes you would put in a vein, but syringes that go into larger machines for analyzing blood and chemical compounds.
